# Creating a New WordPress Instance

A WordPress instance is a single WordPress installation tied to a domain. You can create one directly from PanelAlpha in a few steps.

## Before You Begin

Your domain should already be pointed to DigitalFyre's nameservers, or you can configure DNS after the instance is created. See [DNS Zone Editor](https://docs.digitalfyre.com/wordpress-hosting/hosting/dns.md) for details.

## Creating an Instance

**1. Open PanelAlpha**

Log in to [codex.digitalfyre.com](https://codex.digitalfyre.com) or use SSO from the [Client Portal](https://console.digitalfyre.com).

**2. Click Add New**

Click the **+ Add New** button in the top-right corner.

**3. Select Create New WordPress Instance**

In the modal that appears, choose **Create New WordPress Instance** and click **Continue**.

**4. Complete the Setup**

Follow the on-screen steps to configure your instance — enter your domain, site name, and admin credentials.

Once created, your instance appears on the **My Instances** dashboard and is immediately accessible.

## After Creating an Instance

* **SSL is applied automatically** via Google Trust Services — no manual configuration needed
* **Force HTTPS** is enabled by default
* **Edge Cache** is enabled by default for optimal performance
* Your instance will appear as **live** on the My Instances dashboard once provisioning completes

> [!NOTE]
>
> Each instance gets two Anycast IP addresses assigned automatically. These are visible in the [DNS Zone Editor](https://docs.digitalfyre.com/wordpress-hosting/hosting/dns.md) under My Hosting.

## Staging Environment

Every production instance can have a corresponding staging site. See [Staging](https://docs.digitalfyre.com/wordpress-hosting/managing-instances/staging.md) to set one up after your instance is created.
