# Forcing HTTPS on Your Domain

After installing an SSL certificate, you should redirect all HTTP traffic to HTTPS so visitors always use a secure connection.

## Enabling HTTPS Redirect in Plesk

**1. Go to Websites & Domains**

Log in to Plesk and click **Websites & Domains** in the left sidebar.

**2. Open Hosting Settings**

Find your domain and click **Hosting Settings**.

**3. Enable the Redirect**

Check the option **Redirect from HTTP to HTTPS** (or **Permanent SEO-safe 301 redirect**).

**4. Save**

Click **OK** to apply.

Plesk will add the redirect rule automatically. All HTTP requests to your domain will be permanently redirected to HTTPS.

## Verifying the Redirect

Open a browser and navigate to `http://example.com` (without the `s`). You should be automatically redirected to `https://example.com`.

> [!WARNING]
>
> If your site still loads over HTTP after enabling the redirect, clear your browser cache and try again. If the issue persists, ensure your SSL certificate is installed correctly — see [Installing a Free Let's Encrypt SSL Certificate](https://docs.digitalfyre.com/web-hosting/ssl/lets-encrypt).
