# Adding a Domain to Your Account

If you have registered a domain and want to host it on your DigitalFyre shared hosting account, you can add it directly from Plesk.

## Before You Begin

Make sure your domain's nameservers are pointed to DigitalFyre. See [Pointing Your Domain to Our Nameservers](https://docs.digitalfyre.com/web-hosting/domains/pointing-nameservers) before adding the domain in Plesk.

## Adding the Domain

**1. Go to Websites & Domains**

Log in to Plesk and click **Websites & Domains** in the left sidebar.

**2. Add a Domain**

Click **Add Domain** at the top of the page.

**3. Enter the Domain Name**

Type your domain name (e.g. `example.com`) and leave the document root as the default unless you have a specific reason to change it.

**4. Confirm**

Click **OK**. Plesk will create the domain and its associated directory structure.

> [!NOTE]
>
> DNS propagation can take up to 24–48 hours after changing nameservers. Your site may not be immediately accessible on the new domain even after it is added in Plesk.

## After Adding the Domain

Once the domain is added, you can:

* Upload files via the [File Manager](https://docs.digitalfyre.com/web-hosting/files-and-ftp/file-manager.md) or [FTP](https://docs.digitalfyre.com/web-hosting/files-and-ftp/ftp)
* Install a [free SSL certificate](https://docs.digitalfyre.com/web-hosting/ssl/lets-encrypt)
* [Install WordPress](https://docs.digitalfyre.com/web-hosting/wordpress/installing-wordpress.md) if needed
